In this 3.0 CEU seminar, Katie Thompson will be deconstructing the myth of weight loss and the con of our toxic diet culture. This interactive discussion incorporates clinical experience and scientific evidence for tons of healthymyth-busting. SO MUCH FUN!!!
Katie will then introduce us to the antidote to these toxic beliefs and attitudes -- the Health at Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating (IE) models. HAES and IE offer the healing interventions we need to apply to ourselves and our clients in order to leave weight cycling/loss, eating disorders, disordered eating habits and toxic diet culture behind for good!

Katie Thompson is a Missouri-based licensed professional counselor, nationally certified with an additional certification as an eating disorder specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
Her mission as a therapist is to help clients peel back the layers of protection and defenses that have kept them from living the life he or she wants and guide them in the process of living a balanced and purpose-driven life.
When not in the consultation room, Katie spends professional time lecturing at regional and national conferences on eating disorder recovery, trauma, anxiety disorders and recovery interventions or supervising provisionally licensed therapists.
