Elements Behavioral Health and Gateway Wellness Associates present, as part of the monthly Elements of Wellness Workshop Series:

Suicide:

A Collaborative Approach Towards Safety

A 3 CEU seminar presented by Adrianne Martin, Master Trainer for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

This event is sold out. You may click here to register for the same event being held Feb. 8, 2019.

As a mental health professional, we must be prepared to assess and intervene in the cases of suicidal or potentially suicidal people. Studies show that when clinicians are trained and prepared to work with suicidal people, they perform better, connect more authentically and feel more effective across all job duties.

In addition to meeting the new 2 hours of continuing education credits in suicide assessment, referral, treatment, and management training, this training provides the opportunity to network and enjoy a meal with colleagues.

Objectives:

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify a person with thoughts of suicide

  • Perform a lethality assessment

  • Effectively "hear" the story about suicide

  • Develop a collaborative safety plan

Presenter:

Adrianne Martin MSW, LCSW has been working in the crisis field since 2007, and began working with persons with thoughts of suicide in 2009 while working on her Master's in Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Adrianne found her calling in teaching others how to work with persons with thoughts of suicide, and is a Master Trainer for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.
